Your special day calls for a toast. With several bar packages perfect for your style of occasion, guests will sip, savor and enjoy. Select from a variety of wines, bubbles, cocktails, craft beer and more! You have the choice to do a hosted, cash or subsidized bar. Average pricing ranges from $7.50 - $14 per person.


Is your wedding on the larger side? Please note there is always the option to have an additional bar setup for your Reception with a guaranteed minimum spend of $500. 

The Setting To Your Happily-Ever-After

Thomsons Social Hub


Thomsons Social Hub is a unique space that exudes a a modern yet rustic feel. It is ideal for a wedding reception that is a little more intimate in size. With this space being just over 3,000 square feet, we would be able to fit approximately 120 guests with allowance for a dance floor and head table. This venue is available for 30 - 120 guests and would be the corresponding reception venue offered in our Classic, Premier and Splendor packages. View 3D tour

  




Imperial Ballroom

For a guest list of 120 or more, we suggest a section of our beautiful Imperial Ballroom featuring a high ceiling of 20 feet. Our ballroom can be separated into different larger sections to comfortably accommodate 120 guests or more with provisions for a dance floor and other features.

The ballroom sections vary in sizes. We recommend to first review the sections that suit the magnitude of your wedding based on your preferred dates and space availability.

More Wedding Details

What is required for us to secure our date?

Once you decide you want to proceed with booking your wedding, we will conduct a site visit to ensure we have your venue available on the requested date. At this time, we will draft a preliminary invoice and contract for you to sign and return with deposit in order to secure your date.


What type of deposit do you collect?

A minimum is applied to all events based on the expected number of attendees and package selection. We will collect a 10% non-refundable deposit which will secure your venue. Our menus and pricing are subject to change without notice until a final contract is signed. All food and beverage is subject to a 20% service charge and GST sales tax.


When do you require a guaranteed number of guests and final payment?

We collect a final payment 14 days prior to your event and try to have an accurate count at this point. However, your absolute final number of guests is required three business days prior to your event. 


Can I taste all the food before the wedding?

Of course! A complete tasting of all the selected menu items will be scheduled prior to your wedding. At that time, we can make any necessary adjustments. This tasting is complimentary for a total of four people.


Can I create my own menu?

Yes, our food and beverage experts would be delighted to create a menu that reflects your wishes. Our experienced culinary team will work with you to fulfill your requests.


What does the Hyatt provide for my wedding?

What makes Hyatt Regency Calgary special is that the costs of the tables, banquet chairs, basic white or black linens, cutlery, glassware, china and a dancefloor are wrapped into your rental cost. No extra fees are required for these items.


Do you have suggested vendors for flowers, music, photography, etc.?

We can offer recommendations for other items you need assistance with such as wedding planners, floral arrangements, photographers, videographers and entertainment requests. Please refer to the last page of this brochure for some recommendations.


Can I host a morning-after brunch or a rehearsal dinner at Hyatt Regency Calgary?

Certainly! We have several venues onsite that are appropriate for these occasions. Please note that this would be considered a private event so a rental fee and minimum food and beverage spend would be required. You can also discuss options with our operationals team about making a reservation at our Thomsons Kitchen & Bar and seasonal patio.


Can my guests have a late checkout the morning after the wedding?

We will try and accommodate your guests’ late checkout requests. This will be dependent upon the overall occupancy of our hotel on the day in question.


Can I decorate the wedding venues and reception halls?

Generally, yes. There will be certain limitations in some rooms which our team can review with you.

Can we provide our own wine or alcoholic beverage?

Unfortunately, we do not allow hosts to bring in outside alcohol as it would require setting up the bar and servicing it for your event. The only exception we make for this is if you wanted to bring your own wine for dinner, then we would charge a corkage fee of $18 per person plus 20% service charge.


Can we bring in our own wedding cake?

Yes, of course! We understand a wedding cake can be a very personal touch. We do not have any problem with you bringing your own cake. However, we do charge a cake cutting fee of $5 per person in order to cut and serve your cake to the guests.


Can we bring other outside food or cater specific items ourselves?

Unfortunately, we do not allow any other outside food apart from your wedding cake. All food, beverages and other items for your menu have to be catered by the Hyatt’s culinary team.


SOCAN & Re:SOUND Tariff Fees

SOCAN and ReSound Tariff Fees are required to be charged as a license to play (publicly perform) music at receptions, conventions, assemblies, and fashion shows (Tariff 8).
